Selecting a Pool Heater

Here is some information on selecting a heater for your swimming pool. Selecting a heater is based in part on the surface area of the swimming pool. The larger the surface area the more heat loss and the larger the heater that is recommended.

You can use a larger heater if you like. A larger heater will heat the pool faster. 

If you use your pool daily and are going to heat the pool daily, then a lower BTU heater may work for you. If you use your pool intermittently, and will need to heat the pool longer and more temperature increase, the larger BTU heater would be better for faster heat up.

Using a solar blanket is recommended to reduce heat loss and lower energy costs.
